About the Scholarship
The Virginia W. Smith Scholarship is for Long Island high school seniors who are planning to study horticulture, conservation, environmental science, or related fields in college. Established in 2004 to honor Virginia W. Smith, a devoted member of the North Country Garden Club and passionate environmentalist.

The North Country Garden Club works to promote gardening knowledge and appreciation. We focus on conserving natural resources, supporting education in gardening, horticulture, and related fields, and enhancing our communities through beautification projects. We also provide financial support to educational, scientific, and charitable organizations.
